In response to the problems highlighted above, HOH is focused on addressing the issue of lack of service for OVCs, lack of skills for livelihood, lack of education and inadequate knowledge on HIV and AIDS.
In line with its strategic objectives, HOH aims to achieve the above through;
Equipping youths, young mothers and vulnerable women with vocational skills.
Providing quality education to orphans and vulnerable children through the establishment of a school and an orphanage for providing care and shelter.
Delivering community outreach sessions to the wider community members of Jinja and Kamuli districts on livelihood development, reproductive health, HIV and AIDS and life skills.
The impacts that the intervention mentioned above are aiming to achieve are;
Community members having an increased income through increased income generating activities (IGAs) like crafts and entrepreneurship skills among others.
Orphans and vulnerable children having quality education.
Orphans and vulnerable children leaving happier and productive lives.
Community members making informed decisions regarding HIV and AIDs, prevention through increased knowledge and life skills.
Hands of Hope is a community based organization that has been in operation since January 2019.
The organization’s mission is “Sustainable Community development through livelihood skills and education, with a goal that youth, young mothers, vulnerable children and orphans will have a higher living standards”.
